One of our all-time favourite projects was Betjeman’s Best British Churches, a major work commissioned to us by Harper Collins that involved publishing, photography, mapping, design and digital planning – all things that Blue Island is good at doing. These images are just a few of the many hundreds we took around the country in a series of trips. Photographer Mike Ellis was also the creator of the popular Londoner’s Diaries, published by Blue Island, with his photographs and anecdotes about London’s art and architecture. His heritage images have also appeared in magazines.
